studentcoach writes "Good evening everyone. My name is Chris Lee and I have recently completed my Professional Coaching Certificate and my goal is to offer my services to students. Coaching is not counselling or advising. It is building a partnership and supporting the client to make the journey that he/she may have trouble making on their own. Coaching in no way undermines the good work being done by careers guidance or student support. My idea is very much in its infancy and there is much to do at my end to ensure there is sufficient interest. I use my coaching skills to help clients define their goals and aims clearly and get them organised to achieve them. I provide my clients with a mutually designed framework for personal development. Life coaching is different because it focuses on the person rather than the subject.
Finding it difficult to settle down to study, get work done on time, keep your notes, files and paperwork straight and get yourself to wherever you need to be on time?. Life coaching can help you develop timekeeping and organisational skills which will stand you in good stead whatever career path you choose.
Not decided on a course or career or vague about what steps to take next? Life coaching is not the same as careers advice but it can help you define where you want to go and motivate you to make the right moves to fulfil your ambitions.
Feeling demotivated, fed-up and lacking in confidence about your course? Life coaching helps you define what you are doing and why you are doing it, and teach you to send yourself positive messages about your abilities and how to use them. It also assists you in deciding on what actions you need to take now to restore your confidence and energy levels so that you move ahead in your course.
You are welcome to take Life Coaching sessions either as a stand alone option or in combination with subject tutoring.
