Wanted: Need either room in flat or others to join flat-hunting

DF writes "I’m a mature student - 28, male, first-year - and am looking for either a room in a shared flat/house or others to join with me to find an empty flat/house - either way, to move-in between now and September.
In addition to my studies, I’m also trying to be a writer and so need to live in a relatively quiet flat – I’m not wanting silence, and have no problem with the normal sounds that come with living in a shared flat/house, I just don’t want to put-up with loud music, radios, TVs or people. I’m also looking for flatmates who will keep the common areas relatively tidy - again, I’m not pedantic about this, I just don’t want to have to negotiate obstacles in order to get around the flat, and wash-up before making a meal. I am prepared to live with smokers as long as there is no smoking in the common areas.
As for me, I like reading, cycling, hill-walking, jogging and learning to cook. Socially, I’m the kind of person who prefers doing things like making and eating a meal with friends, going to a quiet café or pub, going for walks or cycles, or going to the cinema, rather than going to clubs and parties.
