well, maybe thats going a bit over the top. But I'll be getting some good money soon and I will be looking to but I new PC

I may have a few k to spare, and I use to build my PCs

The thing is, I really dont know what the CPU talk is anymore, it seems to be all about multi-core and multi-threading. Gone are the days where you could just know how good a chip was from knowing the processor speed.

So my question is, what should I look for in a processor
What should I look for in a motherboard, given I will wnat to update it
Is sata still the better hard drives to get?
and the graphics cards, what is the standard for that now?
